Maui Jim Glasses

Available at The Vision Gallery

Maui Jim, like the name implies, is a Hawaiian company that specializes in sunglasses, both prescription and non-prescription. The company was started by Bill Capps, who came up with the idea of a high end line of performance sunglasses while vacationing in Maui. He named the company after the location, and set about hiring the designers and distributors needed to make his dream and reality.

Each pair of Maui Jim sunglasses is classic, meaning that it will not go out of style quickly – you will be able to wear them year after year (although you may be tempted to buy a new style every season, just to have it on hand.) All have polarized lenses, which make it easier to see clearly, especially if you are on the water, and protect your eyes from the sun’s rays.

Maui Jim makes sunglass frames for both men and women. They are best known for their non-prescription lenses, which have been spotted on the faces of Hollywood celebrities. However, they do have prescription sunglass lenses available, which can be made as either standard lenses or bifocal lenses, depending on your needs. A pair of Maui Jim sunglasses may be just what you need to accent the rest of your wardrobe – included your other prescription eyewear.

Update on Face Masks February 15, 2022

As per the Alberta College of Optometrists, “face masks are still required for all optometrists, staff, patients and other visitors to the clinic regardless of age”.

The recent Premier’s announcement lifting the mask requirement for children 12 and under pertains to other locations such as schools, restaurants and gyms.  However, the City of Edmonton mask bylaw still stands.  Furthermore, optometry clinics are part of essential community health services. As such, the mask requirement in clinic has not changed.

Patients with an official mask exemption must contact the clinic to arrange a safe time and space for their visit.

We will keep this page updated should Public Health Measures change in the future.
